All time best team roll up??

4 out of 5 guys on my new roll up came up like "whoa"

I'm going to post the numbers then how I'm planning on running them. I'm open to advice but since I'm off grid this weekend I have to finalize them by Thursday night.

You'd have more fun giving that helf a long spear, than a pick axe.  When I think pick axe, I imagine a dwarf or horc using it.  Give the helf something he's good with.

The morningstar horc looks fun and will probably live the longest, since his 10 int will mesh well with the low-skill weapon/strat he will be using.  Though, he should have a 14 dex, 9 int, so after 5 trains they are 19/14.  

The dwarf/horc CSers might struggle a bit.  You want more than a 6 dex if using a flail.  My minimum dex for a flail CSer is 10. I'd take points from size and put it into dex.  Or just give him a different weapon.

The guy you have labeled as a 10 dex dwarf CSer would be a great offensive smasher.  Like I pointed out in PM, you can make TWO 16-16-16-7-3-13 gladiators.  Talk about brutal!!!  RATCHET clones.

Your best bet with CS would be to have smarter guys.  At least a 12 starting int, so they can bump to 17 after 5 trains.  Don't use these dummy rollups for fighting styles that require a lot of skills.  Smashy smashy!

Imagine a team of fierce, brutal, offensive guys (except for that one with the low dex).  Blood, perms and murder will be left in their wake.

Have you tried helf's with Battle Flail? I'd rather try to get the extra APM with that, if they still get that bonus.

I don't exactly know how to run RATCHET. I never did.

And I'd rather train up the DEX and have the SIZ for that one. I keep watching my big Horcs take so much damage. But maybe could switch him to be the pick axer.

I'm trying to train up to 22 CON as quick as I can with the CSers so that training a 10 INT up to 17 isn't so far fetched.

but I guess I could keep them off CS till their Parry skills are up. I'm not sure what other skills you couple with CS usually but I'd think the shield you use, weapon, initiative, dodge parry and feint maybe most immediately.

The helf is the wrong build for a flail user. Not enough size. Flails get a damage bonus based on size. Thus a mountainous battle flail horc is a brutal thing. A wiry framed helf with one? Eh, not so much.

With him being so strong, fast and durable, I ran ratchet TK out the gate with great results. Naturally, he isn't running TK now, and hasn't for a couple of years, but it is a great way to start with such a brute.

There's a difference between what you WANT to run as far as race/weapon/strat and what will run BEST given the numbers before you.

Now, if you want to have some fun, make that helf 17-17-14-10-3-10 and give him a pole axe or a boar spear.

Isn't pole axe or even boarspear sort of SIZ dependant because of charge skill/SIZ corrolation?

And yes I already run a few people on TK out the gate, and the ones with mojo are shaping up to be fine in other strategies.

My one guy is set TK 7 till minute two Bash 8 but by then he's often already back on 'enemy is severly damaged' TK trigger.

Sure, but with size 10 she'd still get a good charge damage, and that 17 str/dex will more than make up for it.

15-17-14-10-3-12 would probably get you more kills.  This would be a boar spear build.

I'd rather do the pole axe build.

I have other helf boar spear builds now and nobody using pole axe.

But don't I need a 22 STR to weild it?

He'll be using it two handed at first so he should be fine. Around 50 fights he should look like 22-22-19-15

You can always give him a boar spear for his first few fights.

I'd hold off uploading them.

Consider the 14 dex morningstar horc option. Save the battleflail for when you have higher pre rollups to waste.

Funny enough I did upload it I swear but my laptop shutoff and when I rebooted it wasn't saved to the server.

So now putting them up again. And I'll take your advice on the 14 DEX 9 INT instead of the plan of 18-13-13-10-3-14 I was going with.

But I still don't understand why that subtle of a difference makes this warrior that much better. I feel like mojo can erase that slight difference in one turn and he could be 18-14-14-11-3-14 on the second turn with a bit of luck. Right?

But yeah I'll run him with the Pick Axe. I'll do some TK in the first ten fights, but what then, bash?

Surestrike? Can you teach me how to use that?

Don't count on luck (mojo) when designing a gladiator.  It is best to assume that your gladiator will be a terrible trainer, and take the stats given and create a fighting style/race/weapon/armor combo that will work.  The 5 stat train plateau is a great one to aim for.  It can take FOREVER to get a stat train from 5 to 6, even with a good con, or other times your gladiator will pick it up on her first try.  If your design depends on your guy getting a ton of stat trains early on, then another visit to the drawing board is in order.

While your stat deficient fighter is getting turn after turn of nothing trains when trying to prematurely raise up stats, they are missing opportunities to learn important, life-saving, fight-winning skills.

One of the blessings of 3 and 4 pre gladiators, is they have a "bonus" number of stat points allocated elsewhere, so they shouldn't be struggling for stats out the gate.
