Let’s get this thing started!

Here is what I propose:

Let’s make this a self-reporting contest. This would be very quick and easy for everyone, but would require active forum participation by competing managers. All a manager would have to do is make challenges against UW warriors, then post which ones were successful. For example:

MODOFO (3 pts)
AAAA vs BBBB
CCCC vs DDDD
EEEE vs FFFF

That’s it. Easy for each competing manager to do, and very easy for the competing group to check. Just check to see if the fight occurred as a challenge, see if the challenger won, and then check to see that the loser was actually still in the contest. If you check someone’s post, simply respond to the post with “VERIFIED”.

I say let’s keep track of it as a group too. If any manager has some time, they can add up the current totals and post (maybe Thursday evening). Let’s give a manager until Thursday morning to post their results, but we can be somewhat lenient for this mean, brutal, and good-natured contest. Also, feel free to report the results of any managers that you don’t think will participate in the forums. (If you want to champion for someone who seems to be challenging and not in the forums, but you'll need to do it every turn)

Also, do we want to use an alternate scoring? I propose (slightly modified from my last suggestion):
Turns 4 through 6: 1 pt
Turns 7 and 8: 2 pts
Turn 9+: 3 pts

Finally, because of this new and easier method, I think we could also keep track of which warriors were getting knock-outs. We could have a manager winner AND a warrior winner. Or we could just list the top warrior(s) of the winning manager.  The warrior knock-outs would always count as one regardless of the turn number.

How about offering a lower point reward, say half as much, if you take out a UW gladiator in a random match? Half a point for rounds 4-6, one point for rounds 7 &8 and 1.5 points for rounds 9+

I'm fine with just keeping track of the manager. Who knows, maybe this will get some of the lurkers to come out of the woodwork and report their successful challenges.

As usual, I am handicapped by alliances, so I will not be challenging Palor, Samurai!!11, Sleazee, or Lelu. Kinda knocks a bunch of potential points out of my chances, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

And, to keep my chances of winning my first UW contest high, I started challenging last week (knocked out three UW contestants, one in a random, though) and will continue challenging this week, even though they are not worth any points in Dethroner.

I'm not going after PALOR cause I like my warriors.  

But OK does scoring on this start with week 4?

Cause in week three I eliminated, via challenge SURTUR's ANDROID 16, EYE OF THUNDERA's WILY-KIT & POPPA BALROG's DOROTHY PARKER.

I'll be sure to focus on your non-allies first then.  Muahahahah  

Although an interesting idea, I would vote against counting random matchups.  The idea is to actively knock a warrior out with all of the consequences of that action.

That's a very good strategy, Modofo, as I am in a good position to issue challenges, with warriors up and down the rankings. Why not make it more difficult for me.

I went after some low hanging fruit in week 3. My higher lvl challenges failed, much to my chagrin.

I understand not wanting to include randoms. I will still track them for my own purposes.

I propose that if there is a point tie, the winner goes to the one who knocked off the most number of opponents. This should keep the challenges flying fast and furious, even at earlier stages when they aren't worth as much.

I like the idea of listing both points and # of knockouts when the winner is recorded in DHoR.

Something like:

2017 MANAGER --> 35 points, 24 UW Knock-off Wins


In my eyes, that would beat a gladiator with 35 points and 20 UW Knock-off Wins.

OK week 3 results are up and it looks like I gotta go after MODOFO & ILNEVAL good times.

Vic, that is a good tie breaker.  

FYI, I took out the 3 point category because that seemed like too much.

Imagine some tough guy who keeps defeating all challengers and now it is round 12 of UW and someone finally takes him out... totally worth three points!

I'm just imagining that taking out RATCHET will be worth three points, after your gladiators have been permed up from futile attempts.

OK posting here for not wanting to soak up official channels.

But I think I have 6 left in.

I think POPPA BALROG gets bonus points for fending off my attacks.

Got some key wins and trains and still am not out.

I feel like I have no crap talk left.

I held down the lead kinda strong for 5 rounds. I only have 2 people left in UW that I feel belong there, and my one miracle GROECKLAND has defended two BCs including one lower level elbow drop to still be in this. His third BC comes up this round. I doubt he wins, but SURTUR does suck at bloodpit...

So who knows?

But yeah Best of luck. I think if I have the lead after this week it was pure luck. Been a good run.

I plan on sweeping the upper and lower UW categories this year, which doesn't differ from my plans any previous year.

This was what I considered a garbage roll up. I don't run INT that low. But I improvised and made it 6 rounds deep with this monsterbait that will be dead next week.

I dunno about other managers, but as Dethroner has progressed, I've seen several of my gladiators visiting Vic's Beauty Parlor in an attempt to sway the challenging committee with their good looks.

The race is tight!  

Who will win, and will the dethroners deprive BP of a under-100 UW winner?  Stay tuned!

I'm just doing manager challenges with my dethroner blocks, having my warriors use their standard strategies. Nothing fancy.

If somehow all 5 remaining warriors get axed this round, I'm declaring myself winner on the following metric: Adding up the total number of wins combined by all warriors a manager had in the contest before elimination. Just saying.

Still going for the clean win, but I'll cite this math later if I must.

For the last 5 turns each turn I have fielded 10% or more of the total UW participants, just sayin.

So here is DEAD SOLCORPS GUN my second monsterbait rollup that I decided to try in UW anyways. I actually think that super high PRE won him a few of his closest matches on his amazing 10-0-0 UW run.

But no way dang didly in heck that I am running him with 4 INT.

He is part of my theory that Hling's with boarspears are as deadly as Dwarves with them. (See also, my warrior PABLO)
