Turn 8 returns us to the subpar level of decimation. I myself am one of those who managed to accomplish absolutely nada this turn. Heck, even the Referee managed to kill someone this turn!  The Ref (VETERAN'S BLADE) took the life of Muse's halfling DIONYSUS (1942) (14-31-0) after a 10 minute snooze and drool fest against THECOLONEL's dwarf DZ Zippin. Lots of eyelid zipping occurred during the fight. We all would love to know how exactly the Ref took out Dionysus. Perhaps a gravestone was dropped on him by accident? Or the Ref spilled his drink and DZ Zippin was in the process of licking it out of the sand when Dionysus accidently tripped over him trying to get the booze as well and ended up breaking his neck on the wall? Man i really want to know. Anyway back to the pathetic turnout. Taking away the Ref's wonderful kill, we only had 29 kills. Yes it is around average but anything not average is, well, subpar.  


Dux Mortalis and Devil were the top managers this week with 3 kills each. Stimpy managed to get 2 kills and 21 managers scrapped up enough hurt to get a kill apiece. Marcus and MightyZorak join the ranks of killers in this, the 2nd Killfest tournament. We had 3 challenge kills and 26 non-ref-related singles kills this turn. No team deaths...and sadly no Peasant Scum kills either. Now on to the good stuff that we like to see lots of DEATH and BLOOD!!!!

Even though there were no BC kills, almost half of the matches resulted in the challenged winning! Oh my Gnosh! 2 of the 3 challenge kills were of the challenger!Yeah baby! Devil's SOLON (1769) (32-29-3)  put down Frank's 'male' PEPE THE PUSSYCAT (633) (14-66-0) in one measly minute! Anyone named Pepe or Pussycat really should not issue a challenge. What a pussy! Solon does not have to worry about a challenge from that stable. The other upset occured when Firebird's GHOST (2011) (9-3-0) challenged and became a ghost for real after 3 minutes with The Gvner's half-orc ASTOK OF DUSAR (1920) (9-5-2). 'I aint afraid of no ghost' Astok was heard saying when he first heard about the challenge. Perhaps a different, more gladiatorial friendly name next time Firebird--perhaps Slaughter or Slasher? The only successful challenge of the week happened when Master Misfit's GAY HOBBIT PRIDE (970) (10-5-1)* (Seriously folks I don't make these names up--this is too easy) challenged Jinx's human ANDREW MCSTABBIE (1993) (3-21-0) and 'polished' him off in 2 minutes. Poor Andrew was mc'stabbed' by the Happy Hobbit. MM does GHP use a long spear or boar spear? Inquiring minds really do not want to know.

Finally we get to the single match up kills. 26 gladiators bled out on the sands in this weeks random matches. Well the 27th we already covered above (The Ref's kill). We had 4 veteran gladiators bite the bullet this week. One minute was all it took for Fusion's half-orc BOBGOBLIN (864) (114-116-4) to squash Marcus's halfling SQUASHED DUCK (1029) (111-69-5). Guess Bob is having squashed duck for dinner this week! Dux's dwarf SPLINTER (17) (145-21-5) took out Ilneval's half-orc BEAST OF BALROG (263) (101-87-7) in 2 minutes. Go Turtles go! Oh wait wrong franchise. Guess Beast got splintered permanently by a dwarf other than Gimli. Go figure. Ooops did it again. So long Beast: BloodPit and those who play it will miss you. It took 3 minutes but Eye of Thundera's half- orc SLITHE (1874) (61-59-7) put down Hunter's human FORTESQUE (1830) (68-86-3). Guess Hunter's human is now like his namesake in the game MediEvil. The final high ranking death was another 3 minute bout between Dux's half-orc DISTORTION (19) (58-32-3) and Ilneval's dwarf KRUCIBLE (255) (63-45-3). It was a 'krucible' that 'distorted' Nev's dwarf--permanently.

On to the leader boards. The top three killers this week scrambled for the top spot. Dux managed to wiggle his way into a 3 way tie for 2nd place, while Stimpy and Devil are in the number one spot. The two of them have 9 kills each, while Dux, Nev and Frank the Tank have 8, myself and Scipling have 7, 4 managers have 6, 8 managers have 5, 8 have 4 kills, 15 have 3, 15 have 2 and 12 managers have 1 kill each.
