Nessie, my ultimate Pocket Rocket!

Nessie heads to the monsters 25(19)-25(19)-25(15)-17(11)-12(3)-4, with a record of 165-85-3, with one level 8 perm and one level 6 her only pop zones, mastered in Short sword, Javelin, and every non weapon skill except sweep.

I think she's pretty much the ultimate expression of the "pocket rocket" design, pioneered by Xavier way back when. I've kept the Short sword main hand, even after mastering javelin and throw, to keep her within that concept, even though, when that main hand is disarmed, she may be even a bit more dangerous! Her fights are always fun reads; win or lose there's action.

Her major feat, whether or not she wins her monster fight is being the second ever Halfling to get to 250 fights! Pretty crazy when you think of it as almost 5 years. I'm posting this before the monster fight so everyone who wants can speculate, and will attach the fight after next turn. Help me wish her luck!

Like Dux said, I probably should have gone with just javelin, but then again, Lord Darius is Lord Darius. Ack!

I did a little research and found 23 fights with NESSIE.  Almost 10% of her bouts! (9.163% to be exact).

Let's look at some highlights, going back to the beginning.

My first matchup against NESSIE saw her with 30 fights under her belt, at 18-12-0 on turn 545.  She was already mighty str and lightning quick at that point (not surprising, given the starting 19 str/dex).  She faced a high pre BS CS dwarf of mine and won the fight after 6 yawn-inducing minutes of nicks and scrapes.  She won her next match as well, against my (now last ever) helf quarterstaff user. They met again next... but let's just skip past the loser fights.  DISSERTATION was not a very good warrior, and he and NESSIE seemed to like facing each other across the sands.

Not until her sixth matchup against my stables on turn 592, did she find some good competition, in the form of my morningstar horc HYPERINSULINISM (68-46-6), whom she defeated in short order extending her record to a respectable 66-27-1.

Turn 600 saw the first matchup of my finesse elf CARLIA (71-46-1) and NESSIE (71-29-1) in what would prove to be some of the disarmingest (is that a word?) matches I've ever read.  NESSIE took the win.  Turns 603 & 611 saw her face two of my killer BS CS dwarves and survive to tell the tale, but with two more hashes in her loss column.

Turns 625 & 626 saw CARLIA and NESSIE facing each other in randoms, with our halfling hero avenging her previous losses.  I'm not sure, but I don't think NESSIE had mastered disarm by this point, as she had several failed attempts (which she would make up for later in life).

Turn 625 was a frustrating one for CARLIA, as she was fighting according to plan, but that pesky halfling just wouldn't cooperate!

Turns 630, 631, 641, 643, 644 & 645 saw a return of my BS CS dwarven enforcers, with the only perm inflicted in 23 matches (on turn 631):

That's a LOT of matches in a short period of time.  On turn 647 my enforcer FRISCA(107-26-9) was planted by MOTHERSKILLE(114-44-9), thus reducing my stables' frequency of encounters with NESSIE.

Turns 645 & 652 saw NESSIE easily take down (again) my QS helf and my pickaxe dwarf BURRISA, who couldn't keep up with her lightning movements.

Turn 653 had CARLIA and NESSIE facing each other across the sands, yet again, but this time CARLIA took the sack of sheckels!

It was an unusual matchup, as they each only knocked one weapon from the others' hands, but CARLIA took the kewpie doll.  I knew that when these two fought, I had a very fast-paced, exciting read on my hands.  All my gladiators' matchups against NESSIE were randoms, which makes sense, cuz only a fool would have challenged that tricky halfling.
