Sick roll-up
I've been playing BP for a long time and I've never seen a roll-up anything like this. Wow. Any suggestions/ideas/sour grapes? I have this nagging feeling I'm going to screw-up this once-in-a-lifetime.
14-15-17-3-3-3
Maybe something like...
19-19-17-10-3-3
or
19-19-19-8-3-3
I kind of want to keep the size and presence at 3, but am open to suggestions.

I'm leaning towards a longspear dwarf once he/she has trained to 22-22-22-12-3-3

I'd consider it a waste. I think the SZ is too small for a LS to be properly employed.
If you're considering a LS Dwarf, I'd go 17-17-17-8-3-9.
If you're wanting the 3-3 at the end, I'd go 20-20-17-8-3-3.

19-19-17-10-3-3 Dwarf Trident or Halfling Short Sword. I’m not sure I would go 8 INT for such a midget. The tiny ones need skills ASAP.Modofo wrote:I've been playing BP for a long time and I've never seen a roll-up anything like this. Wow. Any suggestions/ideas/sour grapes? 19-19-19-8-3-3 Hling with Scythe or Quarterstaff
I'd say 19-19-19-6-3-5 might be better though. At some point those scant HPs will be the difference in a fight.

If you want to go with the hammer family of weapons:
17-17-17-7-3-10
18-18-17-5-3-10
19-18-17-4-3-10
17-17-17-8-3-9 <-- longspear helf?
18-18-17-10-3-5 <-- a "large" APPLE style trident dwarf
18-19-17-10-3-4 <-- a "medium" APPLE style trident dwarf
19-19-17-10-3-3 <-- halfling pocket rocket or proper sized APPLE style gladiator
14-18-17-10-3-9 <-- a REALLY strong stilettoeer elf (but when faced with such an opportunity, it is foolish to not go with the minimum of 17-17 str-dex)
Though, if I were given such a rollup, he would simply never train. After 27 fights, he'd still be sitting with a 21(17) con and maybe one or two trains in str & dex, if he was lucky.

Thanks for all the advice! I ended up going 18-18-18-9-3-5 and have been experimenting with some different weapons. So far, I am unimpressed with them all.
Oh, and Vic, you are correct. He has ONE train in three fights.
He truly is a clown.

Why would you use a charging weapon with low SIZ?

Re: Sick roll-up
The gladiator I was referring to (one of my many non-trainers) actually picked up his 22(17) con this week, on his 27th fight. APPLE NEWTON with his size 3 and charging weapon(s) was at one time the arena kill leader. Longspears can do some fantastic damage, especially when the gladiator is strong and fast (and big) enough to wield it. Throw a charge bonus on top and look out! My longspear human started his fight this week delivering 4 potential perm hits in a row. Thankfully, none of them were perms.Lelu wrote:17-17-17-8-3-9 <-- longspear helf?

Grasshopper, don't limit yourself with artificially imposed limits. But don't go cray cray.

Re: Sick roll-up
I believe he already had 10 kills before he started training charge. But he did get some later kills off a charged perm pop.
So... you can delay training your size 9 helf in charge while mastering up the rest. Non-charging damage from a longspear is BRUTAL. But then when you stack charge damage on top? Hooooo-boy! Even if we're talking about a wiry warrior.
The downside, of course, is the weapon's speed.
There's nothing like a stiletto v longspear battle. It will be 3/4 of a minute of nicks and scrapes followed by a nuclear explosion or two, then another minute of desperate nicks and scrapes and then a finisher atomic bomb. Fight: done.
