While filling out HIROI's streak records, I noticed that the BEST EVER STREAK records are worth less than the specific fight bracket records.
For example, a warrior that is in the 200+ bracket's #1 slot would get 7 points for that award but would only get 5 points for the BEST EVER award, which is a higher award. Seems a bit of a strange thing and I am not sure why I did that. Considering that in all other categories the BEST EVER is worth more, this is strange...

One reason I may have done this is because most warriors in the BEST EVER of this type of record are young. Still 1-5 seems a bit under-scored for the achievement to me for some reason now that I look at it. So my question, should I keep it at 1-5, put it as 2-6 or even up it to 3-7 or 4-8? Personally, I feel like putting it up to 2-6 or 3-7 might be more in keeping with the overall pattern of DHoR. Going 4-8 seems a bit much considering most of these warriors in the BEST EVER of the steaks are young warriors. Thoughts and arguments are well appreciated and would help give me a springboard with which to reach a decision.

But isn't being in the best-ever kind of like the icing on the cake? If they are in the best ever, aren't they also ranked in their racial category? That can lead to an explosion of points for a few gladiators. I'm worried about balance.

That's a good point, Vic. I think what is getting my gut on this one is that it is much more difficult to get on the BEST EVER STREAK list for warriors with more experience. I never really thought of it before for this ranking until I put HIROI on it and saw the remarkable difference between the fight experience compared to the other warriors on that list. It is in no way an equal task for a 150 fight warrior to get 26 wins as it is for a 50 fight warrior. Anyway, I think I may have a solution for this one after considering it for a few hours.
Give a + 1 for 50-99, +2 for 100-149, +3 for 150-199, +4 for 200-249. So a warrior that had 45 fights in the #1 slot would earn 5 metric points for that slot only, but a warrior with 245 fights would earn the 5 points for the slot plus 4 more for the experience level, for a total of 9 points. I highly doubt anyone will ever get #1 with a 245 fight warrior, but if they did, they've earned some serious points, IMO.

Hey, Vic, if you can ponder your thought a little more, and see if there is another way to come up with scoring for the entire DHoR. Although I do not consider high point warriors to be a problem, and I do wonder why it would be a problem for a warrior to have high points, I would like to explore your thought further via chat if possible. I get the feeling this may lead to something quite interesting and valuable for DHoR. I'll hop on our usual chat-medium in about an hour if you are available.

Just a quick update on the Vic-Dux chat last night and where my thoughts are now.
Vic's basic premise, as I see it, is that because of experience bonuses both in BEST EVER categories that are coupled with Bi-Racial categories that also have experience bonuses, you get warriors that earn TONS of points off of one accomplishment. For example, a warrior that is BEST EVER 250 fight w/l, under the current system would get 9 points for the best ever award and another 7 for the bi-racial award that goes with it for a total of 16 points. This is pretty extreme.
I hadn't really thought of it that way, I just wanted to reward experience, but maybe there is a way that awards experience, gives points for BEST EVER and Bi-Racial categories, but is not so extreme. Currently, I am thinking of two possibilities. One, is for BEST EVER only awarding points to the top 3 warriors and the points would go from 1-3. They would get the experience reward in the Bi-Racial area. The disadvantage to this is that slots 4 and 5 would essentially be recognition without points. Alternatively, I am thinking of just awarding 1-5 points for BEST EVERs that have a Bi-Racial counterpart (they would still get the experience bonus in the bi-racial list). That way all slots get points, it gets rid of the exponential growth of points, and moderates the rankings a bit. I currently am liking this latter idea quite a bit and am letting it percolate a bit.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Just recounted Player Two's points and he should have 25 not 29. He must not have had his points corrected when some other warrior rose previously. Apologies.

So here is the new Metric with moderating qualities. The change is that BEST EVER records that have a Bi-Racial counterpart category now are only scored from 1-5 and there is no bonus here for experience. The Bi-racial counterpart list will award experience based points. This will curb the exponential growth of metric points when advanced warriors take top notch records. The warriors most affected by this new metric are GONE FISSION, who loses 11 points going from 53 to 42, LORD DARIUS, who loses 9 points going from 73 to 64 and SOSOH, who goes from 25 points to 19 points for a total loss of 6 points. The reason for these losses is because their records are largely high ranking BEST EVER records, which have lost the experience based bonuses. Of course these warriors still gain experience based bonuses in the bi-racial categories, but they do not get the extra points that would come from the BEST EVER experience bonuses. This new ranking affects all warriors to some degree mostly in terms of reducing the extremities of scores and creating a little more moderation. When looking at the top 10 warrior lists between the current system and this new one, you will find that the ranking order is largely unchanged (Tibor and McScrub both gain a rank and Licker drops two going from Master to Champion. There are some changes in the Champions list, but all the same names are still there. Basically, this new system is more balanced and moderate.

Hmmnn, just occurred to me that it might even be better to keep the experience bonus for BEST EVER but reduce the bi-racial to 1-3 points. This might even be more moderating and reward the BEST EVER much more than the bi-racials. For example there are warriors that are #1 on the bi-racial but are not even listed in the BEST EVER. BEST EVER is a much harder list to get on and maybe should be rewarded more than the Bi-racial. It will still give us the moderation (maybe more so), but reward the more difficult task more accordingly. Thoughts?

Just noticed that LUKA has 2 elbow-drop kills. Those two kills have been falsely boosting Luka's metric score. He was listed as having 21 points, but he should have 19. got it corrected.

This is the other option for the metric. I mentioned in an early post that another option to reduce the extremes in scores while still keeping it simple and balanced is to give experience bonuses to BEST EVERs but just do 1-3 points for the bi-racial categories. This is how the following metric was calculated. I rather like it. At the top the main changes are simply creating more moderation in scores. Ratyr and Misery switch (although their points are equal), but they were always so close that it makes sense that either could be ahead of the other depending on how you look at it. A thought just popped in that I wanted to feel out with the community. Most awards are time-shot awards, IE, when you are off a particular list you lose those points for that category. Should I do the same thing with Monsters? A warrior who becomes a monster and remains active as one gains the points of a monster, but when that warrior dies, those monster points go away. Of course the kills that the warrior got as a monster would remain. Thoughts?
