Greatest Gladiator

Post  Vic Vegas on Sat Aug 01, 2015 8:13 pm

As I look at newb questions (no offense, newbs) about gameplay and strategy and find myself giving zen-like answers (channeling Dux) I wonder why I am being so coy and purposefully vague with my answers. I now know why. I know how to run Vic Vegas style gladiators. I have tried running Dux styled gladiators (with his tutelage and feedback) and they all died young. I tried running Palor style gladiators with a smidge more success, but they are all dead, too. On the flipside, with Dux being the only exception, when others have tried running my suggested designs for rollups, they have all wound up planted in the dirt as well.

So, I could give great specifics about how I'm running my gladiators, but even then, they would most likely, all die young.

By finding your own way of building gladiators from the ground up, who live brutally long lives, you will make great warriors (talking to the newbs, again).

Now, if we were to bring up Duelmasters as a counter-example... you can cookie-cutter all day long in that game. I had a small network of game-friends, and we would trade gladiator info and strategies, which would just simply work. The game is much more simple than BP, which is highlighted by this scenario, but is simple in other ways, as well. (Such as the random assignment of skills and not getting to pick and choose which ones to focus/train.)

I get it. But I'm still gonna ask questions of anyone who'll listen!!
